Light wind pelagic... 2021, August 19-21

This was a pelagic with very light wind which blown us some interesting migrant seabirds but was not enough to attract a Madeira Storm Petrel to the chum... As usual, Cory's shearwater Calonectris borealis and Bulwer's petrel Bulweria bulwerii were our companions everyday!

19th of August 2021 - NE wind up to 5 knots and northeast swell up to 1 meter
2 Zino's Petrel Pterodroma madeira - 1 on the way up to the chumming position
5 Arctic Tern Sterna paradisaea
European Storm Petrel Hydrobates pelagicus
Fea's Petrel Pterodroma feae/deserta
3 Long-tailed Jaeger Stercorarius longicaudus
Manx Shearwater Puffinus puffinus
Wilson's Storm-petrel Oceanites oceanicus

Short-beaked Common dolphin Delphinus delphis

20th of August 2021 - ENE wind up to 5 knots and waves from the east up to 0.5 meters
Lesser Black-backed Gull Larus fuscus
3 Arctic Tern Sterna paradisaea
2 Fea's Petrel Pterodroma feae/deserta
2 Yellow-legged Gull Larus michahellis

21st of August 2021 - ENE wind up to 7 knots and eastern swell up to 1 meter
3 Pterodroma sp. on the way to the chumming position
4 Fea's Petrel Pterodroma feae/deserta - 1 on the way up
3 Common Tern Sterna hirundo - 2 on the way to the chumming position
2 Great Shearwater Puffinus gravis - 1 on the way up
2 Arctic Tern Sterna paradisaea
Manx Shearwater Puffinus puffinus
European Storm Petrel Hydrobates pelagicus
Wilson's Storm-petrel Oceanites oceanicus
2 Parasitic Jaeger Stercorarius parasiticus

Bottlenose dolphins Tursiops truncatus
Baleen whale - either Fin whale, Sei whale or Bryde's whale - we just saw the blow and the dorsal fin quite distant
