27th & 28th of May 2006 - Squacco Heron visiting Lugar de Baixo pond

Last weekend, the 27th and 28th of May there was an adult, summer plumage Squacco Heron (Ardeola ralloides) resting at Lugar de Baixo pond, in Madeira Island. This species is a vagrant in Madeira, though it is not rare to see it around here.
