23rd May 2007 - Half-day birdwatching

At Santo da Serra, flying above Madeira's Golf Course, there was a Black Kite Milvus migrans. It was heading to the eastern part of the Island. Once in Caniçal the Black Kite was also observed and so we presumed it would be the same one seen on Santo da Serra Golf Course.

In Machico there was a Redshank Tringa totanus and a Greenshank Tringa nebularia feeding on the river mounth, along with some Turnstones, Gray Wagtails and Waxbills.
