Chris Batty (England), Hugo Romano, Tânia Pestana and Catarina Fagundes (Madeira Wind Birds)

What a night! At Pico do Areeiro we were above a fluffy sea of clouds and under billions of stars, with less than half moon and no breeze.
Since 11pm we heard several calls from different Zino's Petrels at different sites. Some silhouttes were seen, one so close that we could almost touch it. One bird has flewed so near that we perfectly heard the flap of its wings.
