Yellow-crowned Night Heron from 19.35-20.00. On rocks by road in marina..
Roseate Tern 1 adult present on every visit with up to 6 Common Terns
Turnstone immature

Quinta do Lorde Marina
Adult Turnstone in summer plumage evening of 11th May.

Quail 3 males calling and one seen briefly in rough grassland 150 metres from the patch of Pine Trees. I parked on the right approximately 500 metres before the radio station and bus park.
Pallid Swift- one flying around the radio masts at 15.45.

Low cloud when I arrived and it had only just stopped raining. Wind E force 2/3. Sunny in Funchal when I left

Hobby 1 flew along cliffs heading W. I guess it had just arrived off the sea.
500 metres W of Quinta do Lorde.

Found an adult Purple Heron flying E towards Quinta over the sea. Appeared to land on the hillside above the harbour c. 0.5km away.

Return to Funchal 10.55-11.30
Estimated 20 Swallows in groups of 1 to 3 flying W alongside the VR1 as I drove back.
