This option provides to the most serious nature lover, birdwatcher or florawatcher the opportunity to visit a great diversity of habitats, resulting in the observation of more species.
Travel between the different observation sites will be by car, and short walks will be made at each of the places. These walks are accessible to everybody and their purpose is to find different bird and flora species.
Predominant habitats of this tour are farm land, forest, coastal areas and water courses, allowing the observation of different steps of Laurel forest and a great number of passerines, birds of prey, waders and seabirds through seawatching.
The target birds on this tour are: Trocaz pigeon Columba trocaz, Spectacle Warbler Sylvia conspicillata orbitalis, Berthelot's Pipit Anthus berthelotti maderensis, Sparrowhawk Accipter nisus granti, Plain Swift Apus unicolor, the Canary Serinus canaria, Kestrel Falco tinnunculus canariensis and some vagrant birds.
This program lasts about 8 hours.

This outing lasts 3,5 hours, and may be scheduled for the morning or afternoon, where we visit 2 or 3 different habitats along the southeast coast of the island.
During this tour you may observe some of the endemic species of Madeira and Macaronesia, of which the most important are the Plain Swift Apus unicolor, Berthelot's Pipit Anthus berthelotii madeirensis, the Canary Serinus canaria, Firecrest Regullus madeirensis and the Chaffinch Fringilla coelebs maderensis.
However, should you wish to watch any species in particular we can organize a tour tailored to your particular needs.
It should be pointed out that most of this tour is by car, with stops and very short walks at the observation sites.

This tour with approximately six hours, is dedicated to those who wants to ally a walk through the Laurel Forest, with birdwatching and the opportunity to observe a wide range of Madeira's flora endemism, a big variety of insects and the little endemic lizard, the Madeira Wall Lizard (Teria dugesii). The bird species you may see here are the Trocaz pigeon, Firecrest, Chaffinch, Blackcap, Kestrel, Berthelots pipit, Robin and Buzzard. As for the flora you will observe some Laurels, such as Bay Laurel and Lilly-of-the-valley trees, some flowers as Madeira geranium and Sow thistles and many more endemic species. Moreover, you can enjoy the wonderful sightseeing as well the geomorphology of the island.

Our nocturnal program is restricted to the rare Zino's Petrel , involving the access to a place near its colony and, above all, the sound of their calls. A not so easy walk is needed to get to the spot, it is about 25 minutes trekking up and down the mountains, with high cliffs surrounding the path.
Since the end of March Zino's Petrel begins its visits to the breeding areas in the highest mountains of Madeira, with the aim to initiate another breeding season.
At this time of year and untill end of August, it is possible to assist a wild show when, surrounded by the silence of the mountains, we are surprised by their calls that sounds like a wail, which can scare the most distractive.
Although our aim is to hear the Pterodroma madeira calls, we can be lucky and see the Barn Owl (Tyto alba scmitzi), the only nocturnal bird of prey that breeds in Madeira and that is an endemic subspecies.
For this expedition, there is some essential equipment for the success of the trip. First of all you will need warm clothes like gloves, beret, raincoat and comfortable shoes to walk over rough ground and then you need a torch that will be provided by MWB.
