FEBRUARY
Golf - Madeira Island Open - PGA European Tour

CARNIVAL
Festivities start on Carnival Friday night, the so-called travesty night, where people go out at night dressed like the opposite sex. On Saturday there is a big parade of dancing groups through the streets of Funchal in which the President of Regional Government also takes part of. On Tuesday there is a popular parade where anyone can participate.

Flower Festival - every year after Easter we celebrate the wonderful flowers of Madeira. There is a street parade, with dancers showing the multiplicity of floral species of the island, on a Sunday. On the eve, thousands of children get together in the Municipal Square of Funchal, to place a flower in the so-called "Wall of Hope".

JUNE
Atlantic Festival - during this month there are several entertainment street shows, madeira music festivals and an international pyrotechnics held on Saturday nights.
