
Madeira Firecrest
This tour with approximately six hours, is dedicated to those who wants to ally a walk through the Laurel Forest, with birdwatching and the opportunity to observe a wide range of Madeira's flora endemism, a big variety of insects and the little endemic lizard, the Madeira Wall Lizard (Teria dugesii). The bird species you may see here are the Trocaz pigeon, Firecrest, Chaffinch, Blackcap, Kestrel, Berthelots pipit, Robin and Buzzard. As for the flora you will observe some Laurels, such as Bay Laurel and Lilly-of-the-valley trees, some flowers as Madeira geranium and Sow thistles and many more endemic species. Moreover, you can enjoy the wonderful sightseeing as well the geomorphology of the island.
Tour days: Mondays & Thursdays from 9am to 2,30pm
Price per person: €45. Children between 4 and 12 years old pay half price.
Friendly advices: Though the tour stops on a tea house, it is advisable for you to take a sandwich or something to eat. A jacket is always usefull for the altitude cold.
